ADSORPTION STUDY OF Cr(VI) FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION USING ANIMAL BONE CHARCOAL AS LOW COST ADSORBENT

چکیده

Animal bone charcoal (ABC) produced from animal bones was used as adsorbent to remove Cr(VI) from its aqueous solution . Labority experimental investigation was carried out to identify the effect of contact of time, pH, adsorbent dose and initial concentration on the adsorption of chromium from metal solution. Results showed that pH 2 was the most suitable, while the removal of Cr(VI) ions with an initial concentration 100 mg/L was found to be 92% after shaking for 120 min at 140 rpm and at constant temperature. The experimental data for the adsorption process were well fitted by the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model relative to the fit of the Freundlich adsorption model.
